Rafal Lukawiecki
born 1971, Kraków, Poland
lives in Co. Wicklow, Ireland
1980 — Rafal becomes interested in photography, initially in the medium format, and in traditional darkroom techniques. His professional education focuses on mathematics and information technology.
1990 — Leaves Poland, and reads IT at Imperial College, University of London where he earns BEng in Computing Science followed by MSc in Foundations of Advanced Information Technology. His studies are sponsored by Oxford Computer Group Ltd, where he later works as a developer, trainer, and a consultant.
2000 — Works for Project Botticelli Ltd. Rafal is an IT expert and a speaker. In his professional capacity, he visits 20 – 40 countries every year.
2001 — His passion for large format photography becomes reality with Navajo Arch one of his very first photographs taken in that medium.
2008 — Group exhibition No Pixels, Airfield Trust (Dublin, Ireland).
2011 — Solo exhibition (Be)Longing, Stained Glass Museum (Kraków, Poland).
2014 — Solo exhibition Abstract Landscapes, Haven Studio (Casper, Wyoming, USA).
