I Love Black & White Photography
I am a fine-art landscape photographer specialising in traditional black-and-white silver gelatin prints.
I like to use a large format film view camera, and I print all of my photographs by hand, in my darkroom, using technology that has not changed much in the last hundred years. I believe that a slow and involved creative process gives me a more intimate insight into the complexity of the world.
My book, (Be)Longing, contains reproductions of twenty-four of my photographs of the American Southwest. They focus on a feeling of a longing to belong to the beauty and serenity of otherwise very forbidding, deserted, and strange landscapes. My expression has been constantly inspired by the impact of naturally occuring raw abstraction on art and civilisation.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you will enjoy my art and my thoughts.
