I Love Black & White Photography
I am a landscape photographer specialising in traditional black-and-white silver-gelatin prints.
I like to use a large format film view camera, and I print all of my photographs by hand, in my darkroom, using technology that has not changed much in the last hundred years. I believe that a slow and involved creative process gives me a more intimate insight into the complexity of the world.
My book, (Be)Longing, contains reproductions of twenty-four of my photographs of the American Southwest. They focus on a feeling of a longing to belong to the beauty and serenity of otherwise very forbidding, deserted, and strange landscapes. I am inspired by the impact of naturally occurring raw abstraction on art and civilisation.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoy my art and my thoughts.
